Therapeutic Recreation Adult Programs

The Towns of Davidson, Cornelius PARC Department and Huntersville have teamed up and are proud to offer a variety of Therapeutic Recreation Programs to individuals of all needs and abilities. Therapeutic Recreation uses treatment, leisure education and recreation participation to help people with illnesses, disabilities and other conditions to develop and use their leisure in ways that enhance their health, functional abilities, independence and quality of life. (NTRS, 2000). Financial assistance is available to those in need that reside in the Towns of Davidson, Cornelius and Huntersville.

ADULT PROGRAM GOAL:
To provide the opportunity to eliminate social isolation, improve self-esteem and spend time with peers in an environment that encourages positive social exchange.

The second Monday of each month will be your night out!   We invite you to join us for a different activity each month.  Bring your friends or come alone and meet new ones.
Time:                  7-9pm            Ages:  16 and up
Registration Fee:  $5.00 (unless specified otherwise below)            
Registration deadline:  One week prior
 

December 8:  Baking Night: We will bake goodies and deliver them to a group in need of some sweet treats.

January 12:  Creative Art Night:  Explore your creative side as we paint and color by number, draw with markers, paint and design with clay.

February 9:  Gym Night:  Get exercise by playing kickball, soccer, or basketball.
