The Cornelius Parks and Recreation Department will host a FREE Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Local Competition for area youth on Sunday, April 27th, 1:00 pm at Bailey Road Park.

Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual ability in core baseball skills.

Boys and girls will compete together in four age groups: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2008 MLB All-Star Game. Age is determined by deadline date of July 17, 2008.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Competition.

All participants must fill out a registration/waiver form and a copy of a birth certificate is required prior to the start of competition.
