In 2007, Jon was asked to submit a sculpture for the 2008 Olympic Games.
In researching his piece, he discovered that in popular Chinese culture, the number eight brings good fortune.  When the sun travels around the sculpture, at a certain time of day, a shadow in the shape of the number eight is cast, bringing good fortune to those upon whom it falls. It has an amazing 15 step paint application, which utilizes light gathering particles and gives the sculpture the ability to changes colors as the sun moves over the piece, or the viewer's vantage point changes.
Don't miss the opportunity to view this stunning contemporary piece!

Jon Hair is the most highly commissioned monumental sculptor in the U.S., and an Official Sculptor of the U.S. Olympic Team and the U.S. Olympic Committee.   He is a colleague of the National Sculpture Society and a member of Allied Artists of America.  Jon resides and works in Cornelius.
